The enlarged heat plate with the VR (r6) in place so the wind from the wheel area blows
along the VR casing fins. You will notice that the VR fins are ground down on each end!
They hit the seat fairing panel since the VR has an extra padding plate beneath it covered
in Heat sink paste so the moulded rubber area has extra cooling thro the padding plate
& the mounting bracket.
Having found that the hoses were still the original type & therefore could be 15 years
old. I replaced them for braided kit from HEL. If you do the same you will find you get 2
front hoses not 3 as per original lay out. The longer one of the two goes to the left and
be sure to order a double banjo bolt WITH bleed screw for the top union to the master
cylinder.
Being a hoarder of bits bling I had a pair of R6 calipers and Master cylinder spare, what I
did not have was a reservoir so I ordered 3 @£8.00 each from :-

This rather nifty tool not only works out what shims you need for the bike but which ones
you can re-use thus saving some good cash ! My thanks to ICONTENDER of the FZR forum for
permission to use it here
I have had to make a paddock stand for my Project Yellow Peril so I designed it to work with my FZR as well for details of the basic design see:-Paddock stand design Although at present it will only hook up to the swing arm bobbins that I have made and fitted, I will have the metalwork complete so that it can also lock under the rear hand rail as well. Thus the bike's whole rear suspension can be removed or serviced
Rather useful in my book LoL
Ok so I am beginning to put together the pertinant facts for an electronic dash unit for
the FZR using either and R1 or an R6 Yamaha dash unit, { I bought an R6 unit for my bike }
The tacho bit is easy using The GSXR divide by two circuit The
sensor if you just drill the case should be an FJR 1300, R1 & R6 sensors are longer in
the body and may need shimming (& sealing!!). Speedo adjustment is with "the speed
healer" at the moment but I am researching my own circuit for doing this albeit
slowly.
In an effort to help those with spluttering bikes that run like 3 legged dogs I have robbed
the FZR archive mail thread and compiled the following:-FZR carb settings
